HiThe following should help.Connecting a USB Plotter To Your Windows ComputerThis information refers mainly to Chinese manufactured plotter cutters.If you are using a USB connection to connect your plotter to your computer you will need to install a USB system driver. The USB system driver is provided by the plotter manufacturer and allows Windows to correctly identify the plotter hardware. Usually a virtual COM port is installed to Windows, such as COM1, COM2 etc. Your cutting software should then be configured to output to the matching port number.You should have been supplied a CD or download link with your plotter, containing the driver installer. If you don't have this, you will need to contact your supplier or the manufacturer of the plotter to get it.Not all USB devices are compatible with the newer versions of Windows. The documentation supplied with the driver should detail which Windows versions are compatible.There are two common suppliers of the USB chipset fitted to plotters. These are from Prolific and FTDI.
